Adding Objects and Customers

Objects and customers are linked to each other. A specific customer can be assigned to an object, but assigning a customer is optional. If customer management is enabled for your account, when creating an object you must select either a specific customer

The instructions below explain how to add customers and objects.

1. Adding a Customer

  1. Open Customers from the menu (Manage > Objects and Customers > Customers).

  2. Click Add.

  3. Complete the form:

    • Name – required. The customer name must be unique.

    • Optional fields: address, bank account number, contact person, phone number, email address, VAT number, and registration number.

  4. Click Save.

Once saved, the customer can be selected when creating an object.

Note: If Customers is not available in the menu, customer management is not enabled for your account. In this case, objects are not linked to customers.

2. Adding an Object

  1. Open Objects from the menu.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Complete the form:

    • Name – required and must be unique.

    • Customer – this field is displayed if customer management is enabled for your account. Select the appropriate customer from the list, or select “No customer” if the object does not have a specific customer.

  4. Click Save.

Important: The Customer Selection Cannot Be Changed Later

A customer or “No customer” must be selected when the object is created. Once the object has been saved, the customer field is no longer displayed when editing the object and the selection cannot be changed.

Before saving the object, make sure that the correct customer is assigned, or that “No customer” is selected if no customer should be assigned.

If you later need to change the customer assigned to an object, please contact our customer support team.

Example

A construction company adds the customer “Kesklinna Kinnisvara OÜ”:

Customers → Add → Name: “Kesklinna Kinnisvara OÜ” → Save

Next, they add the object “Pärnu mnt 10 renovation”:

Objects → Add → Name: “Pärnu mnt 10 renovation” → Customer: “Kesklinna Kinnisvara OÜ” → Save

If the object does not have a specific customer—for example, your own office building or a general overhead object—select “No customer” in the customer field.

Deactivating a Customer or Object

Customers and objects cannot be deleted. However, they can be marked as inactive.

Marking a customer or object as inactive preserves historical data and existing links while preventing the customer or object from being used for new activities.
